The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for sustainability and works actively to ensure that Cheffelo maintains long-term, trust-based relationships and upholds sound business ethics. The Board has delegated responsibility to the management team to establish policy documents and appropriate structures to ensure compliance. To drive sustainability efforts forward at the operational level, a Sustainability Squad was established in 2022, led by Cheffelo’s Chief Sustainability Officer. The group is responsible for recommending a sustainability strategy and related goals, which are then approved by the management team. In collaboration with the rest of the organization, the Sustainability Squad works to implement initiatives in line with the strategy and to monitor KPIs.

Assessment and Management of Business Risks: The management team is responsible for continuously identifying, assessing, and mitigating various risks in the business. The risks have been categorized into commercial, financial, operational, and regulatory risks and have been assessed in terms of impact and probability, and preventive strategies have been developed. Risks in the areas of the environment, social issues, human rights, and corruption arise primarily at the supplier level and through our procurement activities. We mitigate these risks through our Code of Conduct for Suppliers and ongoing follow-ups with suppliers, as well as through careful planning and selection of products and suppliers. Risks in the area of human resources include sick leave and occupational health and safety risks, which we mitigate through systematic occupational health and safety efforts.
The Transparency Act is a Norwegian law that ensures companies are transparent about how they address human rights and working conditions in their supply chains.
